WHS Auditing

Independent WHS auditing by qualified Auditors.

QSG delivers independent WHS auditing services through a team of qualified Auditors and Lead Auditors, experienced across construction, manufacturing and a broad range of other industries. We provide clear, well-structured audit reports with practical recommendations and support for corrective action, giving our clients a clear picture of where they stand relative to their legislative and contractual obligations.

We have extensive experience in auditing under The Prequalification (PQC) System, Queensland’s whole-of-government register of prequalified building consultants and contractors. Managing Director Andrew Gisinger has held accreditation as a WHS Auditor (Construction) with the Office of Industrial Relations, Queensland Government since 2009.

PQC Auditing

Contractors delivering, or seeking to deliver, works under the Queensland Government Prequalification (PQC) Contractor scheme who are required to demonstrate ongoing WHS compliance and performance.

PQC audits are conducted by Managing Director, Andrew Gisinger, who has held accreditation as a WHS Auditor (Construction) with the Office of Industrial Relations, Queensland Government since 2009. Every audit covers a thorough review of your WHS Management Plan against the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld), Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld), relevant Codes of Practice and PQC requirements, followed by on-site verification to confirm your plan is implemented in practice.

If you are looking to achieve PQC status for the first time or need to update your systems and documentation to meet the requirements, QSG’s consultants can assist with that process. Visit our Compliance Assistance Verification and Support page for more information about the available support.

Site Safety Audits

Businesses across construction, retail, commercial, industrial and other sectors that need an independent review of their WHS systems and site or office practices.

QSG conducts independent WHS audits against applicable legislation, client standards and recognised industry requirements. Every audit goes beyond a simple document review. We assess whether your systems are working in practice and provide clear, prioritised findings with practical recommendations your team can act on.

Why it matters

Legal Compliance

WHS legislation requires ongoing monitoring and verification of workplace safety systems. Independent auditing demonstrates that your obligations are being met and that your systems are operating as intended.

Client and Contractual Requirements

Many clients and government bodies require independent safety auditing as a condition of engagement, including the Queensland Government Prequalification (PQC) scheme, where structured audits are a mandatory requirement.

Risk Reduction

Independent audits identify hazards, gaps, and issues before they lead to incidents, protecting your people and reducing the likelihood of costly regulatory action.

Continuous Improvement

Regular auditing gives you a clear picture of your safety performance over time and a structured basis for tracking progress and making improvements where they are needed most.

Preparing for Certification

If you are working towards ISO certification or maintaining existing accreditations, regular independent auditing helps identify what needs to be addressed before a formal assessment is undertaken.

Confidence in Your Systems

Knowing your systems have been independently reviewed and that your documentation reflects what is occurring on the ground gives you and your clients confidence that your business is managing safety properly.

Our approach

Every audit starts with a clear understanding of the applicable criteria, your systems and what we need to assess. We review your documentation thoroughly, conduct structured interviews with relevant personnel, and assess compliance with applicable legislation, standards, or client requirements. Our reports are clear, well-structured and easy to act on, with findings prioritised by risk and recommendations that are practical and realistic.

When corrective actions are required, we work with you to ensure the findings are understood and the next steps are clear. We can provide follow-up support to help you work through the corrective actions and, where required, conduct a follow-up audit to confirm everything has been properly closed out.
